You can find More information about Unify below. Kindly help us spread the word!
And read our Blog for the latest articles and information.
Early Access on our Patreon page. Unify is a work in progress. A final public version could become available Soon™ (*), but until that time, you can obtain a fully functional Unify through Early Access on our Patreon page.
* Note to the uninitiated: the Soon trademark means it will take quite some time... We recommend using the Early Access version.
(You can disable the game launcher module if you only want to use the tools.)
As Unify is updated and improved constantly, its user interface and features are prone to changes. Therefore the list and screenshots below may not fully represent Unify's current version's features or user interface.
A game launcher!
Game Library
Centralize and manage all your games within one location: Unify.
Search your computer for installed games and manage them using Unify.
Unify will automatically monitor your system for new games (including game stores like Steam, GOG, Epic and Ubisoft). Of course you can also manually perform searches.
Unify also supports importing your game libraries from several stores, namely Steam, GOG and Ubisoft, so you can start the store launcher's installation process from Unify.
Create a Wishlist and have Unify monitor your list and notify you about deals using the CheapSharp API. We also support importing your Wishlist from Steam.
Unify has integration and games metadata is powered by IGDB.com. This allows you to easily retrieve detailed game information from IGDB's extensive database.
All your game information is stored locally in Game Libraries on your computer so it is completely private. We do not store your library or any other information on our server in any way (in fact, we don't store any information on our server at all).
Your Game Libraries can easily be transferred between PC's (cloud syncing is supported through the cloud service you have available on Windows, like OneDrive).
Import and export game information (as well as games in case of Abandonware) so you can easily share it.
An internal webbrowser so you can browse your favorites stores, purchase games and read game news from within Unify.
Cover, list as well as page views are supported, including light and dark themes. Experienced users can create their own color themes.
Shortcuts / context menu
Create shortcuts which can be accessed from a context menu for each game in your list. This way you can, for example, have quick access to websites, launch tools like mod managers, run external programs like trainers, perform scripts (which you can create using our Script Editor using either our own internal Unify scripting language, PowerShell or VB.NET), etcetera.
You can also quickly access our Jotter tool (notes) from the context menu. This way you can write down notes that are specific to each game in your Library.
Or you can easily check how much hard drive space a game takes on your system. Or, if you're done with a game, simply uninstall it from the context menu.
Advanced launch options
Change the way a game should launch - like launching AutoHotkey scripts, Unify scripts, trainers or other apps along with it (and closing those apps again when the game exits), use borderless windowed mode, enable or disable Auto HDR for a game, apply compatibility settings (run as Administrator, change process priority, enable/disable DPI awareness and/or Windows fullscreen optimizations, enable Alchemy support, etc.), disable the screensaver and Window popup (toast) notifications during gaming (which can - on some screens - cause temporary black screens when using HDR), and so on.
Backup game files
Unify allows you to backup game files while running the game. This can be handy if you want to backup savegames.
Dosbox
Unify supports Dosbox to allow you to run AbandonWare DOS games.
Controller support
Unify supports XBOX controllers. Even better, it allows you to use your controller as a PC mouse and (on-screen) keyboard. This way you can use your Windows system using your controller. This feature is disabled while gaming to make sure it does not conflict with games supporting controllers.
A toolbox!
Unify stands for unification, and that is why it is also a container of several useful utilities, all in one application.
Theme and background manager
Manage your Windows theme depending on the time of day (automatic dark or light mode).
You can even run scripts when the Windows theme changes. This can be handy for example if you want other desktop apps (that support a dark theme) to change their theme by changing registry settings (advanced users only). Or if you want to lower your monitor brightness in dark theme and reset it again in light theme.
Manage your wallpapers and create wallpaper collections or use daily images from Windows Spotlight or Bing. You can also sync your desktop and lockscreen backgrounds so they are the same. Not only that, you can also assign a specific Windows accent color to each wallpaper.
Furthermore you can have wallpapers only show up depending on the time of day (day or night) or period in the year (summer, christmas, etc) and automatically darken your background when using Window's dark theme.
Also, Unify allows you to manage your mouse cursors and create collections and use them depending on the Windows dark/light theme.
Both background and cursor collections can easily be exported and imported so you can use these on your other Windows devices or share them with others that have Unify.
Cleaner
Clean your system by removing files, folders and registry items. You can create your own cleaning jobs (or create advanced jobs with scripts using our Script Editor).
Jobs can be exported and imported for easy transfer.
Tweaker
Use Tweaks to customize your Windows experience or automate tasks. For example run tweaks to stop Windows Explorer from showing USB drives separately in the navigation list. Or to disable the Windows Explorer's new context menu style in Windows 11 and revert to the classic Windows 10's version.
You can create your own tweaker tasks (using our Script Editor). And tasks can be exported and imported for easy transfer.
Clipboard Manager
Manage your clipboard history and mark clipboard items as favorite so they will become available permanently and add tags to quickly filter clipboard items. Items on the clipboard can easily be saved to your hard drive (encryption is supported). Or you can quickly perform some standard operations on them, like converting HTML or Richtext to plain text, or adding transparency to an image, extract e-mail addresses and so on.
Clipboard Quick Actions
Using Clipboard Quick Actions you can turn the basic copy feature of Windows in a handy tool. Whenever you copy something, Unify will show an optional and non-intrusive popup at the bottom of your screen from where you can quickly access quick tools to process that clipboard item. For example:
OCR an image and directly copy the retrieved text to the clipboard
Annotate / modify / crop an image on the clipboard using our internal image editor:
You can annotate an image using several drawing tools and crop only the part of the image you need. You can then copy it to the clipboard to quickly share it (using mail or WhatsApp for example) using Unify's Clipboard Actions again. Or you can convert images to other formats (Unify supports the major image formats, like JPEG, BMP, PNG, GIF and WEBP).
Extract e-mail addresses from a piece of text (so you can quickly paste these in your Teams invite for example):
Copying the text shown here in Notepad++ and then clicking the @ tool from Unify's Quick Action popup would copy Yoda’s e-mailaddress. The Force is strong with Unify!
Combine multiple PDF's in one or convert copied text to a PDF.
Send any files/folders quickly by e-mail by just copying the files and/or folders and choosing the Mail action. If the files are large, you can quickly ZIP them to reduce the size; in that case Unify will automatically create an e-mail message to show which files are stored in the ZIP file.
Create a ZIP file from the files in the clipboard (like copied files or e-mail attachments) which you can paste or share again, either by e-mail or a third-party app like WhatsApp. Passwords are supported.
Parse a website to retrieve its main text and images.
Copy a clipboard item to Unify's Collector, which is a storage location on your computer or cloud for your personal 'junk' which you can manage using the Collector (like assigning tags to items, categorizing items, parse webpages, save items as files, etc)
Change the casing of text (uppercase, lowercase, etc).
Rename a file on the clipboard before pasting it.
Search and replace text in text in the clipboard or search and replace text in copied files on the clipboard:
And more!
Clipboard Paster
Quickly paste clipboard contents (like text or images) to a file on your computer, or quickly extract the contents of one or more copied Zip files, all from the Windows Explorer context menu. And if you copied a list of files, including Zip files, you can auto-extract those Zip files during the copy process.
For this feature to work on Windows 11, Windows Explorer's classic context menu needs to be enabled (which can be done from Unify's Tweaker tool).
File and folder backup
There are many useful backup utilities that can be found on the web. However, what many of them seem to be lacking is a simple file and folder backup. Unify fills this gap by offering this as a tool.
Jotter (a Notes Manager)
You can use the Jotter tool (aka 'Notes') to create notebooks with notes (sorted in a treeview structure with unlimited levels), make calculations, translate text and so on. Quickly browse notes by searching for text or their tags. Notes can be exported to a variety of formats, like RTF, HTML and PDF. All notes are stored locally and can be synced in the Cloud.
Write notes quickly anytime by simply pressing a keyboard shortcut so the Jotter will popup. You can do so while gaming for example, in which case this would show the notebook for the running game (jotting while gaming works only in windowed or borderless fullscreen gaming).
Jotter can also be accessed from our Clipboard Quick Actions so you can quickly add clipboard content to a note.
Collector
This tool allows you to store items, like URL's, images, files, etcetera so you can access them later. Items can be tagged and categorized.
Using the Collector, you can also parse URL's (custom parsing scripts are supported) and extract text or images.
The Collector can also be accessed from our Clipboard Quick Actions so you can quickly add clipboard content to the Collector or parse a copied webpage URL.
Quicky (a Shortcut Manager)
Using our Quicky tool (a keyboard shortcut extender) you can use and create customizable keyboard shortcuts allowing you to quickly perform actions on your PC, like running Steam, Discord, open Unify's tools (like the Clipboard Manager and Jotter tool), do a quick websearch, or launch another program or execute a script.
Normally you would be limited by the amount of keys on your keyboard. However, Quicky supports subkeys. This way you can extend the range of keyboard shortcuts. By first pressing a global hotkey (e.g. CTRL+ALT+K) you can then type in any subkey combination to perform tasks.
Also, Quicky has some built-in shortcuts with which you can, for example:
Quickly insert symbols / characters in your text document using our Symbol Picker;
Pressing the global HotKey and then CTRL+S will show the Symbol Picker. Selecting the symbol (using the arrows keys or the mouse) and pressing CTRL+ENTER will paste that symbol to your text editor. In this example that is Notepad++, but it can be any editor, like Word or Excel, or anything!
Note that the symbols listed here can be expanded upon.
Quickly insert RGB(A) color codes in your CSS document using our Color Picker. You can also convert color codes to hexadecimal values or vice-versa.
Pressing the global HotKey and then CTRL+K will show the Color Picker. Selecting the color (using the arrows keys or the mouse) and pressing CTRL+ENTER will paste that color's CSS code to your text editor. In this example that is Notepad++, but it can be any editor, like Adobe Dreamweaver or anything!
Note that the colors listed here can be expanded upon.
And more will be added over time!
Customizable System Tray Menu
Using Unify's System Tray Menu you can quickly close (and open) game stores as well as execute actions using tools you can create yourself. With these tools you can launch apps or execute scripts (which you can create using the Script Editor).
Custom tools can be created by simply adding items that refer to an existing executable. Or by creating an item that runs a script file which you can create using our Script Editor.
Desktop Shortcut Grouping
From Unify's Theme section, you can Create Folder Groups on your desktop that contain your shortcuts to applications, links or scripts, with fully customizable icons.
Scheduler
You can use Unify's Scheduler to easily create tasks that need to run at certain times. You could for example create a Scheduler Task to automatically execute Cleaning Tasks every monday of the week. Or to periodically execute a custom-made script.
Hide Folders
Want to hide certain folders and protect them using a master password? You can use our Hide Folders tool for that. You can easily hide and unhide them using keyboard shortcuts.
Keep in mind that this is not a full-fledged privacy protection tool, so those dedicated to unhide your folders will succeed at that.
